Getting There

Via Rainbow Beach, vehicle barge, Manta Ray operates from Inskip Point and runs on demand, approx every 20 minutes. No need to prebook. Drive up the Eastern Beach (check tide conditions) approx. 30 minutes. Look for the Australian Flag on the flagpole on the dunes and turn into Eurong 2nd Valley. Reception is approx. 100 metres on the left.

Via Hervey Bay, use Kingfisher Barge from River Heads to Wangoolba Creek. Three Services daily, need to book in advance. From Wangoolba Creek follow the signs across to the eastern side of the island for Eurong Township. Come onto the beach and head South 400 metres, then turn into Eurong Second Valley. Reception is 100 metres on the left.
If you don’t have your own 4WD or don’t wish to hire a vehicle there is an island taxi service. They can pick up from barge drop off points or Rainbow Beach. Please note there is only one island taxi so bookings are essential.

Things To Do

Fraser Island is a world heritage listed island with great activities. Visit the famous Lake McKenzie, walk through the rainforest at central station and enjoy 4WD driving on inland tracks and the open beach. Sandblows, coloured sands and creeks will amaze.

Visit Indian Head and climb to the top to see the amazing marine life in the waters below. Fraser Island has great fishing on both the Eastern Beach and the calmer western waters.

For the adventurous, take a trip to Sandy Cape Lighthouse and be amazed by the scenery. Don’t forget whale watch season! Whales can be spotted between late May and late October.
